I don't have any idea...

what to title this entry. a catchy title eludes me at the moment.
surgery went well on monday, the doctor found a little piece of tissue caught in the hernia which was what was causing me so much pain. thankfully the pain is gone (with exception of residual incision pain), now it is mostly a matter of living within the lifting restrictions set on me by the Doc: 20 lbs max for three weeks (one down, two to go...). twenty pounds doesn't seem like it would be that restricting, but when you consider that our little man now weighs 12 lbs 1 oz (officially on the scale at the doctor's office for his one month check up on Friday the 16th) and his car seat weighs like 9 lbs, that leaves me feeling a bit stranded. i am not even supposed to shovel snow! (don't tell the doc but dan let me do the patio and the front steps)
mom came down monday and stayed till Henry's appointment on friday. it was a Huge help to have her around to help with the cooking, cleaning, and diaper duty. i have to say that mom went a little crazy cleaning, and I think it is now safe to eat off almost any surface in the house (thanks mom!)! and of course, dan really appreciated not having to come home and figure out dinner after work for his first full week back to work in a month. speaking of Dan's work, things have picked up a bit, and he actually got like 3 hours of over time this past week - even with taking half of monday off to be with me in surgery! a good and bad thing. it looks like he will be going up to Traverse City for a day (maybe over-night, I hope not!) this week. a long way to go for work, but right now we take what we can get wherever we can get it.

For those of you who have Henry's growth chart spread sheet going here are the stats from his one month check up:
Weight: 12 lbs, 1 oz
Length: 24 1/8 inches
Cranial circumference (head size for the rest of you): 15 1/2 inches
um, that would be "average" size for a 3 month old, according to the doctors chart. some of the 6 month clothes that we have already fit him, and most of the 0-3 month things no longer fit. dan says that baby sizing is as ridiculous as women's sizing. i say it's even worse.

Henry has been routinely sleeping 4.5-5 hours at a stretch during the night (and sometimes longer!) in his crib in his own room. we are Very thankful for this, and over all he's a very content (tho very "contemplative" ie - grumpy looking) little man. one of our friends told us that "God lures you in with the first one"... well I would say we are in: hook, line and sinker... except getting spit-up and pooped on is kind of gross!
Our friend Stacy came by last week with her camera and a new lens to meet Henry Danger. photos can be seen (and ordered) at her Flickr page, or here:

He didn't really appreciate being awakened from his nap for the paparazzi...

I'm glad to know you are doing well! Thank goodness. What a BIG boy Henry is! Looks like it's a good thing I brought over some larger sized outfits - he'll be using them in a week or two (LOL!)

Please let me know if you need ANYTHING, OK?
